Superior Control’s Senior Engineer Michael Girardin completed the Boston University Graduate Certificate in Program Management in December 2017. The course expanded Michael’s understanding and knowledge of project management by complementing his on-the-job training.
“Mike has been a great addition to the Superior Controls engineering team since joining the company in 2016. We encourage everyone to continue to grow as individuals by setting goals each year following the SMART principle,” said Bob Patrick, Superior Controls VP of Engineering. “Superior Controls congratulates Mike in this recent achievement!”
While Michael had project management experience, he decided to pursue his graduate certificate to expand the pool of projects he is qualified to manage, given the strict requirements in highly-regulated industries. At BU, Michael gained those project management skills including an all-encompassing understanding of responsibilities, how to generate and track a project’s budget, and how to track performance of a project to accurately gauge when it will be complete.
Michael also points to Superior Controls’ culture of continuous improvement and comprehensive training in project management as being very critical to the success of his work. He says, “Being able to work within the Superior Controls team to provide control system design and integration for our customers efficiently has been very enjoyable.” Michael is looking forward to applying the skills he has learned to improve project execution for customers.
Superior Controls takes great pride in our intensive training program for every engineer joining the Superior Controls team, whether experienced or just out of college. Training modules cover topics ranging from office procedures to project execution procedures to technical topics such as Good Documentation Practice (GDP) and Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP).
Congratulations on the completion of your Graduate Certificate in Program Management, Michael!
